The Dubai Criminal Investigations Department has seized six containers of counterfeit cigarettes bearing the Swiss Japan Tobacco International (JTI) brand name over a a one-week period. Most of the unauthorized product bore the brand name “Winston”.
JTI Corporate Security Vice President Mark Mulvey stated that it was critical for private companies to work closely with the host country authorities in combating the production and transportation of counterfeit goods. “The Government, consumers and JTI are all cheated by this illegal activity,” added Mulvey.
The Geneva-based JTI is the world’s third largest international cigarette company with three of the top five global cigarette brands in its portfolio: Camel, Winston and MILD SEVEN. — (menareport.com)
