The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry Monday signed a Memorandum of Understanding with a delegation representing Australia's Gold Coast City Council.
"(The Memorandum of Understanding) provides a framework (for the) elimination of barriers to trade. It covers all aspects of trade.
"We have a wide range of products and services (to offer to Dubai's market)," Ian Solomon, founder and inaugural president of the Gold Coast City Council, told Gulf News following the signing ceremony.
"We've identified one area (we would like to target in particular) the marine industry.
"We export $250 million (Dh917.5 million) in marine-related products each year," Solomon said. "(The Gold Coast's other exports) include services such as architecture, property management and engineering. (These are primarily exported) to Asian markets."
The Gold Coast City Council is looking for ways to increase exports of these services to Dubai, Solomon said.
