Dubai Duty Free recorded a new daily sales record of 4.74 million Emirati dirhams ($1.3 million), which was achieved on December 20. The new daily record surpasses that set on November 1 when sales topped Dh 4.36 million ($1.26 million).
On average Dubai Duty Free handles 18,000 shopfloor transactions per day, while on December 20, the shopfloor recorded 28,885 transactions. Each transaction was 20 percent higher than average. In the electronics and cameras zone alone, sales topped Dh 900,000 ($250,000) and on the same day, perfume sales reached Dh 560,000 ($156,000).
Dubai Duty Free recorded annual shop floor sales of over one billion Emirati dirhams ($272.2 million) since January. Sales, which have remained ahead of budget since the beginning of the year, have been closely monitored recently in anticipation of reaching the target before the year-end. — (menareport.com)
