Dubai Duty Free has recorded annual shop floor sales of over one billion Emirati dirhams ($272.2 million) since January. Sales, which have remained ahead of budget since the beginning of the year, have been closely monitored in the past few days in anticipation of reaching the target before the year-end.
With sales in all categories showing a solid increase, Dubai Duty Free is likely to finish the year with sales running at 20 percent higher than last year. With an average of 18,000 sales transactions a day, the operation has recorded over seven million transactions so far this year.
Dubai Duty Free began operations in December 1983 and recorded a first full year turnover of Dh 72 million. The facility, which is located at Dubai’s international airport, comprises an area of 5,400 square-meters. — (menareport.com)
