Next time you open Microsoft word, you'll find Dubai Font as an option to type your words in.
In collaboration with Microsoft, the Executive Council of Dubai, launched Dubai Font for users of Office 365. The font is available in 23 languages and two typefaces: Latin and Arabic
Dubai has become the first city to have its own font.
The fonts, 'Dubai', 'Dubai Medium' and 'Dubai Light', will be available to more than 180 countries and more than 100 million users of Office 365 around the world.

"A font is a way to help people from different cultures and nationalities to express themselves, which in our case reflects the values of happiness, respect and tolerance that Dubai holds," said Abdullah Al Shaibani, Secretary General of Executive Council of Dubai, during the launch.

Al Shaibani added that the design of the font was inspired by the city's growth, encompassing different cultures and nationalities and reflecting tolerance.
"It builds a new example of the modern city that holds its traditional values," said Al Shaibani.
The font has its own website - www.dubaifont.com. Residents can download the font from the website free of charge. They also have an Instagram handle - @dubaifont.
Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council said that all government entities should use the font as the official font for all government transactions.
