The Dubai Department of Economic Development (DED) announced that the emirate will host the annual World Congress for Total Quality Management (TQM) this year. This is the eighth edition of the international congress and the first time the event will be held outside Europe.
Speaking at the press conference, Essa Kazim, coordinator general of Dubai Quality Award and the director general of Dubai Financial Market said, “We are very pleased to bring this major international event to Dubai as it is a natural step forward in our effort to spread the message of quality and excellence in the Emirate.”
“This high-level conference will offer quality practitioners and professionals from the region, an opportunity to interact with international experts and academics and imbibe the new and innovative concepts on Total Quality Management (TQM).”
The eighth World Congress for Total Quality Management, will be held over three days from October 6-8, 2003 at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel. The theme for this year is, “Measuring Organizational Performance in a Global Economy,” and offers an opportunity to appraise recent practices and share new concepts that have relevance in the context of a global scene.
Speakers of international repute are expected to present detailed papers during the first part of each day while the second half will be devoted to several parallel sessions dealing with various aspects of TQM. The parallel sittings enable several speakers and delegates from across the world to express their ideas freely thus stimulating discussions that will challenge existing perceptions. — (menareport.com)
