UAE's Dubai Land Department generated on January 17, 2005 a total of US$1.2 million from two public auctions for real estates in al-Marar and al-Satwa areas in Dubai.
According to its Web site, the department sold a 209 sq. m. residential building in al-Marar for $919,000. The second auction for the day was for an old house in al-Satwa area, which was sold for $272,000.
