The Middle East region's first conference and exhibition for the direct marketing industry will be held from the June 11 to 15, 2005, at the J.W. Marriott Hotel in Dubai. Direct Marketing 2005, is being supported for the first time, by the Direct Marketing Association (DMA), a key milestone in the development of the regional direct marketing industry. Other international associations to recognise the significance of the developing market in the Middle East, are the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) and the Federation of European Direct and Interactive Marketing (FEDMA).

Direct Marketing 2005, which will be opened by H.E. Sultan Saeed Al Mansouri, UAE Minister of Communications and Chairman of Emirates Post, will identify the key factors for success in meeting consumer and business needs in the Middle East region and examine both regional and international initiatives.

This leading edge conference with interactive workshops is complemented by an exhibition, which has already attracted major regional and international industry heavyweights.

Commenting on the event, Steven Jones, Conference Director, Direct Marketing
2005 said, "The concept of direct marketing is by no means new, but its significance has increased remarkably in the recent past, especially in rapidly developing markets such as the Middle East. The extremely competitive market situation has forced marketers to explore alternative channels other than the traditional routes to market such as media advertising."
