Dubai Municipality is building a multi-story car parking at a cost of Dhs34 million in Al Sabkha area in a bid to solve a shortage of parking lots in this part of the busy central business district (CBD) of Deira. According to Rashad Bukhash, Director of General Projects Department at the municipality, the Projects Design Section at the department has already approved final designs for the project which will be completed by the end of this year. "Al Sabkha is one of the busiest areas in the Deira CBD. Parking has always been a problem in this area and the new project would contribute to an extent in solving this. Besides, the availability of such a vast parking area will also help reduce traffic congestion," said Mr. Bukhash. He noted that three-story parking complex with a total area of 20,000 square meters would offer a total of 470 parking spaces.
