Under a new law currently being drafted by the Dubai Land Department, all real estate agents operating in Dubai will be required to undergo mandatory training courses conducted by the Department in order to receive certification and licensing.
The law, according to Khaleej Times, will penalize any agents caught operating without property documentation.
The measure was put forth to help route out illegitimate agents, said Fadi Hammadeh, head of legal Department at Dubai Properties. Many such agents are believed to be working in cooperation with developers.
