Two hundred and forty Dubai Transport taxis will be outfitted with payment terminals that will allow customers to pay fares with their MasterCard cards, reported MasterCard International.

The initiative, which will begin September 15, was conceived, evaluated for its technical alternatives and finalized by MasterCard International at its Middle East and North Africa headquarters located at Dubai Internet City in cooperation with Dubai Transport, Mashreqbank, Computer Network System (CNS) and Golden Media Infix (GMI).

A total of two hundred and forty airport and city taxis will be equipped to accept MasterCard cards. These vehicles will be easily recognized by their MasterCard branding.
