Over 80 members of the International Business Women's Group came together recently at their monthly lunch event, this time to not only network but to celebrate the start of the 20th anniversary celebrations for the Dubai based group

From humble beginnings back in 1983, and a small group of around a dozen, mostly British business women, to today's group with some 200 members representing a wealth of nationalities and professions, the philosophy of the group remains the same – a regular forum in which experiences are shared, ideas are exchanged and from which a professional network is available for dedicated support in the constantly evolving business hub of Dubai.

In the late 1980s and early 1990s the group grew from strength to strength and, with the Dubai and United Arab Emirates (UAE) Governments' recognition and support of women in business developing in tandem with the group's growth, the IBWG Dubai has been able to achieve a much higher profile and greater sphere of influence in the commercial arena in which they function. As well as raising the awareness of the group, a commitment to focused and professional networking both in their own business sectors and the business community in general has been a crucial success factor.

The group meet once a month, currently at the World Trade Centre Club, for a lunch that primarily focuses on the common objective of professional networking, but which also showcases a range of topics of direct interest to both members and guests with a calendar of qualified speakers, both male and female, presenting subjects that reflect the multi-faceted lives of its members. — (menareport.com)
