Durrat Al Bahrain is pleased to announce that the draw for a grand prize package worth US$600,000, which includes a speedboat, a luxury 4-wheel drive vehicle and an exclusive waterfront villa in the landmark Durrat Al Bahrain project, will be held on 8 March 2006, live on Bahrain Television Channel 44.

This amazing “new lifestyle” package was the top prize for the Durrat Al Bahrain Ramadan Quiz programme held in November 2005 during Ramadan and Eid Al Fitr. In addition to the grand prize package, prizes worth US$190,000 were given away during the shows, which were held at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) and aired daily on Channel 44.

Thousands of people from Bahrain and throughout the Arab world took part, either as a live audience, via phone-in or SMS. The lines for the phone-in and SMS have since remained open and are due to close within the next few days.

Over 8,000 people, a large number of them from Bahrain, have qualified for the Grand Prize.

“The show was a huge success and gained a lot of popularity among young men, women and families from throughout the Arab world. The quiz gave out many prizes, however, the grand prize has given one lucky person the chance to win a lifestyle which combines Bahrain’s rich natural beauty and traditional affinity with the land and sea with every conceivable modern amenity to make the lives of residents as enjoyable and harmonious as possible,” said Mr. Jassim Al Jowder, Chief Executive Officer of Durrat Al Bahrain.

In each 30-minute show, contestants answered general knowledge questions and took part in games and sporting challenges related to the Durrat Al Bahrain lifestyle theme.

The US$3 billion Durrat Al Bahrain project (including commercial developments), is now in the final stages of land reclamation in the south eastern part of Bahrain, and has been planned as a world-class exclusive residential, leisure, commercial and tourist destination, offering a lifestyle experience unrivalled in the Middle East.

The development comprises a cluster of islands and land areas that together give the project its unique island lifestyle theme. The project is creating almost 20 kms of pristine sandy beaches for public and private use by its estimated 45,000 residents and visitors.

This resort city, which is selling fast, will offer a wealth of beach-life and leisure activities, including an aqua park, a full-service Marina offering a Venice-type lifestyle and an 18-hole golf course, which is expected to be developed by a world renowned golf course design and operating company.

The urban lifestyle hub of the resort city will boast 6,000 apartments, a large-scale modern shopping mall, estimated to be double the size of Seef mall, restaurants and cafes, a piazza, public beaches and a host of community facilities, including a mosque, health centres and schools.

The islands will provide quiet residential living, with a total of 2,000 luxury villas of different sizes, private and common beach areas, boat mooring options and breathtaking sea views, while an Island Hotel will boast an aqua park.

Tune in on 8 March 2006 to BTV at 7.30pm Bahrain time, to see who the lucky winner will be to receive one of the luxury villas and thereby becoming an exclusive member of the Durrat Al Bahrain community! “And, to enable the winner to enjoy the total Durrat Al Bahrain lifestyle experience, he or she will also receive a speedboat, and a luxury four-wheel drive vehicle,” said Mr. Al Jowder.
