An online Jihad campaign directed against Jewish and Israeli websites is set to launch this Friday, November 29, according to the Los Angeles-based Simon Wiesenthal Center, which regularly monitors Arab and Islamic websites for anti-Jewish activity on the Internet.

The three-day Electronic Jihad was declared by hackers, reportedly affiliated to Hamas, the Jewish organization told Reuters. Dispensing practical hacking advise, the sites urge supporters to join the attack in memory of the great battle of Badr.

September 2002 witnessed a record number of digital attacks staged worldwide, since records began in 1995, revealed the London-based mi2g Intelligence Unit. The total number of attacks for September was 11,080 bringing the cumulative for the first nine months of 2002 to 42,185, already a third greater than the whole of 2001. Out of the 110 victim countries in September, the most attacked were USA, Brazil, Denmark, UK and Germany in that order. — (menareport.com)
