The Egyptian Cabinet recently passed the new public budget and investment bill for the fiscal year 2001-2002, reported Al-Hayat newspaper. This approval enables the budget proposal to be passed onto the parliament for further debating.
According to the report, the Egyptian Information Minister, Safwat Al-Sharif, stated that the new budget is valued at 126.9 billion Egyptian pounds ($32.6 billion). This reflects an increase compared with last year’s budget, which stood at EP 112 billion. — (Albawaba-MEBG)
