Egypt's Minister of Petroleum Sameh Fahmi said 170 oil and gas discoveries have been made in the last five years, mainly in the Western Desert, the Mediterranean and Gulf of Suez.
During a recent meeting of Egyptian-French Business Association Fahmi referred to the activities of French petroleum companies in the Egyptian oil sector, saying that Gas Du France is engaged in exporting Egyptian gas from Edko through a $ 10-billion gas deal.
