The Egyptian Prime Minister, Atef Obeid, met with the Iraqi Minister of Commerce, Mohammed Mahdi Saleh, reported Al-Ahram . The two officials discussed ways of increasing bilateral exchanges and activating the bilateral free trade accord. Saleh stated that Egyptian exports to Iraq are expected to hit a peak volume of two billion dollars in 2002 compared with $1.7 billion last year.
