Egypt and France will sign about 30 agreements during the French president's visit to Egypt which is scheduled for Apr. 17, the French ambassador to Egypt said on Sunday.

The French President Francois Hollande's visit to Egypt comes at the invitation of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.

Ambassador Andre Parant told a press conference on Sunday that a delegation of French businessmen will accompany Hollande during his visit to Egypt.

He said that military cooperation will be among topics discussed during the visit.

Last October, Egypt signed a deal with France worth EUR 950 million to buy two Mistral helicopter carriers.

Parant said that the delivery of the helicopter carriers will take place between July and September.

Last January, Egypt received three Rafale fighter jets from France. The first batch was received in July.

Egypt bought 24 jets from a French aircraft manufacturer and sealed the deal in Feb. 2015. The deal is worth EUR 5.2 billion.
