During a recent visit to Cairo, a Turkish delegation representing the state-owned Pipelines Company (Botas), succeeded in significantly pushing forward bilateral negotiations on the planned Egypt-Turkey gas project.
According to Al-Hayat newspaper, the Turks managed to settle some of the differences regarding this bilateral gas project with their Egyptian colleagues. It was also reported that the Turkish Energy Minister, Jamhour Ersmopur, is scheduled to meet with the Egyptian Petroleum Minister, Sameh Fahmi in Cairo soon, where the two are expected to finalize the gas agreement.
Turkey intends to purchase an annual four billion cubic meters of Egyptian gas, worth some two billion dollars, under the framework of this project. — (Albawaba-MEBG)
