Following recent terror attacks on the United States, Egypt's national carrier, EgyptAir, has announced it is canceling all flight routes headed to Pakistan and Yemen, until further notice.

A company official told AFP that the chief reason for the cancellation was “the security situation and the low number of passengers,” making these flights no longer commercially viable. The airline operates bi-weekly Cairo-Karachi flights, via Dubai, as well as a weekly flights running between Cairo and Sanaa and Cairo-Aden.

The airline industry is expected to incur heavy losses in the aftermath of the devastating terror attacks in which four hijacked commercial aircraft were crashed in the heart of New York city and Washington, killing thousands of people. ― (Mena Report)
