The MA Kharafi Group has announced that Egyptair has commenced direct scheduled flight services from Cairo to Marsa Alam International Airport. The airport has been developed by the Kuwaiti group under a 40 year Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) concession as the new international gateway airport to Egypt's South Red Sea and the Marsa Alam Coast.

Marsa Alam International Airport serves Egypt's South Red Sea area which includes nearly 3,500 resort rooms plus an extensive fleet of safari dive boats operating from Port Ghalib – the mega resort community that is five kilometers from the Marsa Alam International Airport and also being developed by the MA Kharafi Group and other investors including the world renowned destination resort developer, Sun International. — (
