A recently publicized economic study by the Egyptian Economy and Foreign Commerce Ministry, reported Al-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper, shows that the value of Egyptian investments in Romania amounted to $1.9 billion by the end of last September. The Egyptian investments in Romania are equivalent to two percent of the total foreign investments in that country.
According to the report, the value of exchanges between Egypt and Romania totaled $188 million in 2000, $17 million of which were Egyptian exports and $171 million Egyptian imports from Romania. The exports to Romania consist of fruits, vegetables, grain, chemicals, mineral and plastic, while the Egyptian imports from Romania consist of livestock, wood, cars and tractors. –(Albawaba-MEBG)
