Egyptian investments in Romania reach $1.9 billion

A recently publicized economic study by the Egyptian Economy and Foreign Commerce Ministry shows that the value of the Egyptian investments in Romania amounted to $1.9 billion by the end of last September.  

 

According to a report in Al-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper, Egyptian investments in Romania are equivalent to two percent of the total foreign investments in that country. 

 

According to the report, the value of exchanges between Egypt and Romania totaled $188 million in 2000, $17 million of which were contributed by Egyptian exports. Egyptian imports from Romania account for $171 million.  

 

Egyptian exports to Romania consist mainly of fruit, vegetables, grain, chemicals, minerals and plastic products, while Egyptian imports from Romania consist of livestock, wood, cars and tractors. — (Albawaba-MEBG)
