MiniBar manufacturer Electrolux Leisure Appliances is to introduce its new name Dometic, at the Middle East Hotel Show between May 20-22, 2002, stated a company press release. Regional sales manager for the Middle East Christofer Lund said Dometic will also demonstrate the Windows software for its automatic miniBars.
At the regional show, hotels will be able to view extensive management reports, sales and product analysis, profit and loss analysis and inventory control systems. The Show will also showcase its wide range of classic miniBars and other in-room products like miniSafes and trouser presses.
The fair will be held under the sponsorship of General Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, UAE Minister of Defense and chairman of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing. The Show was purchased by DMG World Media, a subsidiary of FTSE100 company, the Daily Mail & General Trust in 2000.
A third of the exhibiting space has been booked, 50 percent of it by local exhibitors. Four new national pavilions, representing Thailand, Lebanon, Taiwan and the Philippines, have also been confirmed. The US, Germany, South Africa, United Kingdom, Italy, France, Australia and Hong Kong have once again taken pavilions and Northern Ireland’s Madini Hotel Work will be the single biggest exhibitor,
The exhibition in 2001 attracted 115 exhibitors representing more than 200 companies from 13 countries in Asia, Australia, Europe, the GCC, North America and South Africa. The event also attracted over 3,500 quality visitors from the Middle East hotel industry.
The Hotel Show’s international exhibitor line-up will include manufacturers in air conditioning, audio visual, video conferencing, bathroom supplies, bed linen, building materials, cutlery, carpeting and curtains. Also on display will be producers of computer hardware and software, fitness, spa and pool equipment, buses, limousines, landscaping services, management and reservations systems, telecommunications systems and uniforms. — (menareport.com)
