Emaar Properties celebrated the first anniversary of its employee suggestion programme and presented the annual Golden Egg Awards to winners in the various categories for 2005-06.
Emaar Properties UAE Managing Director Ahmad Al Matrooshi presented the awards at a prize distribution ceremony and gala dinner held at Grand Hyatt Hotel, Dubai. He also unveiled a new identity – Afkaar - for the suggestion programme. Afkaar, meaning ‘ideas,’ replaces the earlier name, ‘Incubator‘.
Emaar’s employee suggestion programme drives the company’s continual improvement initiatives by promoting employee creativity and encouraging innovation.
Emaar’s Property Handover Department was adjudged ‘Most Active Department.’ Jeevan D’Mello, Manager, Property Handover, received the trophy. Lilia D’Souza of Customer Care Department won the trophy for ‘Most Active Suggestor,’ and Rosstin Coutinho of Property Handover Department won the trophy for ‘Best Suggestion of the Year’ for his ideas on community mapping. All winners also received a cash award of AED 2,500 each.
The newly trained Internal Quality Auditors of ISO 9001:2000 were also feted at the ceremony and were presented with certificates endorsed by LRQA.
“The most critical factor underlying the great achievements of any organization is its people,” said Al Matrooshi. “They make all the difference – between success and failure, excellence and weakness, and growth and survival. Emaar’s staff had shown great personal involvement and commitment to Emaar’s journey of business excellence through their participation in the employee suggestion programme.”
