Emarat participated in the Water and Energy Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) that was organized by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority. Emarat owns and operates the largest natural gas distribution system in the Northern Emirates to power stations and major industrial users, allowing eco-friendly gas to be used in place of liquid fuels.
“When new projects are chalked out and economic strategies planned at Emarat, safety for the environment is a top concern,” said Emarat’s Public Relations and Advertising Manager Hussain Kazim at the opening of the exhibition.
Emarat was the first petroleum-retailer in the Middle East to introduce unleaded petrol in 1992 under the brand name of ULTIMA. At Emarat’s Lube Express facilities where motor oils are changed, all the waste oil is collected and transferred mechanically to an underground tank thus avoiding spillage and contamination to the environment. The waste oil is dispensed off to licensed vendors.
At Emarat Car Wash services, the wastewater from the car wash facility is channeled through a recycling unit, which removes all contaminants. The clean water is then recycled to wash cars once again, to preserve precious water resources. The detergent used to wash the cars is selected for its biodegradable properties, posing no threat to the environment. — (menareport.com)
