Emirates Airline pledges $5.5 million for IMF-World Bank meeting

The UAE national carrier Emirates Airline has pledged 20 million Emirati dirhams ($5.5 million) in support of its partnership with Dubai 2003, organizer of the annual meetings of the boards of governors of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Dubai in September 2003, confirmed a press release. 

 

The airline's partnership with Dubai 2003 will extend to flying in a number of the 16,000-20,000 attendants and media representatives for the financial event, the biggest ever to be held in the Middle East region. In addition, Emirates will support Dubai 2003 in its marketing and promotional campaigns. 

 

Emirates, now in its 16th year, flies to 56 destinations in 39 countries, using one of the world's youngest fleet of Boeing and Airbus aircraft whose average age is less than three years. The airline recently announced its largest-ever aircraft order, valued at $15 billion. The total order for the superjumbo Airbus and Boeing 777 aircrafts will boost Emirates' fleet to 100 aircraft by the year 2010. By September 2003, Emirates' network of destinations will include Japan in the East and the USA in the West. — (menareport.com)
