Emirates SkyCargo's Pakistan station is fast picking up, hauling a record-breaking 29 tons of cargo on the Airbus 330-200 passenger aircraft, soon after it launched the triple daily to Karachi. The cargo consisted of some dry shipment but mainly of mangoes, a very popular export from Pakistan to European destinations.

Pakistan, one of Emirates' first destinations when it started operations in 1985, continues to expand its operations. Currently, Emirates operates a total of 32 flights a week between Dubai and Pakistan – 21 flights to Karachi, four to Lahore, five to Islamabad and two flights to Peshawar.

Emirates SkyCargo carried 525,188 tons of cargo in 2002 and earned 1.6 billion Emirati dirhams ($435 million) in revenues, responsible for 19.6 percent of the airline's profits. — (menareport.com)
