Emiratis write eight percent more checks in Q1 2001

The Emirates Central Bank reported that 3.54 million checks were exchanged in the UAE during the first quarter of 2001, compared with 3.26 million checks in the corresponding period of the previous year. 

 

The value of checks exchanged during the first quarter of 2001 amounted to 55.79 billion Emirati dIrahms ($15.1 billion), according to Al-Watan daily. Overall check value for the corresponding period of last year, reached only Dh 50.91 billion. 

 

These figures translate into an increase of 8.5 percent, or 282,000 checks valued at Dh 4.89 billion. — (Mena Report)
