EMS Technologies has expanded its contract valued at $19.9 million to supply defense electronics hardware to Israel-based defense contractor Elisra Electronic Systems.
EMS' Space & Technology Group/Atlanta was awarded a $10.9 million contract with Elisra in 1998 to build phased array transmitter (PAT) units. The units are instrumental to locating and communicating with guided rockets.
Last fall, EMS began delivering qualified units, which have been successful in field tests. Under the new contract, which runs through 2005 and is now valued at $19.9 million, EMS will supply additional PATs and establish a maintenance facility for the hardware in Israel.
EMS's Space & Technology Group/Atlanta and Elisra Electronic Systems also are unveiling an expanded relationship whereby the two companies will pursue joint opportunities to support the military's growing needs for electronic warfare capabilities in the United States and globally.
Elisra Electronics Systems, the flagship of the Elisra Group, is Israel's leading developer, manufacturer and supplier of advanced Electronic Warfare (EW) systems. The company has an established reputation as an innovative, battle-proven leader in Electronic Warfare, providing self- protection suites for combat aircraft.
The Elisra Group also offers a comprehensive solution for ground, naval and air protection, combat and simulation and has a strong national and international customer base. — (menareport.com)
