Energy projects in Kuwait to raise oil output to 4 million barrels a day

Energy projects worth KD6.5 billion are underway and they could boost oil output to 4 million barrels a day, said ‏  

‏Monday Kuwait's Minister of Energy, Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah.‏  

 

Speaking for the Minister at a conference on Future Projects in Kuwait, Abbas Naqi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy for economic affairs, said that among large energy projects planned for Kuwait until the year 2020 ‏will be the expansion of the three current oil refineries, the building of a new refinery, developing northern oil fields, updating power grids and water ‏  

‏desalination plants.‏ 

 

According to KUNA, managing director at Kuwait Oil Co (KOC) Ahmad Alarbeed said at the conference that plans for the future at KOC envision producing oil at a rate ‏  

‏of 4 million barrels a day, minimizing production costs, increasing safety ‏work conditions, and establishing stronger ties with business partners. (menareport.com)
