Speaking at a parliamentary group meeting, Turkish prime minister Tayyip Erdogan praised the economic progress the country made in 2003, adding that the annual national inflation for last year was the lowest in nearly three decades, reported Aksam.
“The annual consumer price index was at 18.4 percent and wholesale price index was 13.9 percent for 2003, which were better than even our targets,” the Prime Minister said.
The government also announced that Turkey's exports reached an all time high in 2003, with sales of goods reaching $47.9 billion, a 32.4 percent increase compared to figures from last year. — (menareport.com)
