Juniper Networks and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Telecommunications Corporation have completed the Etisalat IP infrastructure with the deployment of Juniper Networks M160 routing platforms.

The UAE has experienced substantial IP traffic growth in recent years. Etisalat is one of the main contributors to the continuation of this growth across the region through its extensive IP service portfolio. As a result, Etisalat is continuously enhancing its IP infrastructure. One of these enhancements is the upgrade of its core backbone with Juniper Networks M160 routing platforms.

This upgrade is an indication of Etisalat's commitment to providing the best possible service to its customers. The Juniper Networks M-series routers provide Etisalat with a reliable and high performing infrastructure on which it can offer the advanced IP services its customers demand.

The M160 routers have been installed in Points-of-Presence (POPs) throughout the country and are part of the highest performing IP network in the Middle East. This performance is important to Etisalat, enabling the organization to launch new services such as broadband Internet, without having to question the ability of the infrastructure to support these services.

Juniper Networks authorized distribution partner in the UAE, Alpha Data, played a central role throughout the pre and post sales process and was responsible for the supply and installation of the Juniper Networks routers in the Etisalat network.

Alpha Data will also provide the necessary technical support going forward. As part of the agreement, Alpha Data contracted Juniper Networks Professional Services group to assist in the deployment of the IP backbone, as well as the development of new IP services. — (menareport.com)
