EU-Iranian trade increased by eight percent in 2001

Trade between the European Union (EU) and Iran increased by eight percent in 2001 reaching $13.1 billion. The Islamic Republic was the EU’s 32nd most active trading partner in 2001, reported IRNA.  

 

EU exports to Iran surpassed $6.8 billion while Iran’s exports to EU member states totaled $6.3 billion. Oil and its derivatives accounted for 80 percent of Iran's exports to EU countries. European exports to Iran are more diversified, with power generation plants, large machinery and electrical and mechanical appliances making-up about 45 percent of the total exports. — (menareport.com)
