Carina Billetun, the president of the European chapter of the International Spa Association (ISPA), the global industry body committed to raising worldwide awareness of the spa leisure sector, is due in Dubai next week on a fact finding mission which could see the emirate hosting the 2004 ISPA Europe annual conference.
"Dubai's growing stature as a Meetings Incentive Conventions Exhibitions (MICE) and world class tourist destination has put it in the running to host the 2004 annual conference," said Daniella Russell, director of the health and leisure department at MKM Group, which owns and operates the Cleopatra's Spa brand and the Middle East's first ISPA board representative.
"Carina's visit, the first to this region by a top ISPA official, will strengthen our initiative to form a professional spa body in the Middle East and serve to showcase the growing regional spa industry. Securing Dubai's designation as the host for the 2004 conference would be a major boost for the emirate and the regional spa industry in general," said Russell.
"We are hoping to attract between 500-750 delegates from Europe and Asia. The conference would enable us to demonstrate to global industry professionals the extent and quality of the Middle East's spa and wellness facilities." — (menareport.com)
