The upcoming Garden, Landscaping & Outdoor Living Exhibition, set to take place from the 14th – 16th of May at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre, has grown by an astonishing 60% year on year, and has currently sold 80% more exhibition space than the same time last year. The evolution within landscaping and gardening is a combination of the growth in development, changes in property law giving expatriates the freedom to purchase a property, higher disposable incomes and good weather; creating a 12% growth per annum in the landscaping and garden products sectors.
Products from four of the world’s continents will be represented at the exhibition, with a projected total of in excess of 120 international exhibitors, showing their luxurious and stylish products. Country pavilions will be present from Hong Kong, France and Indonesia, and there is strong presence from within the UAE at the 2006 show with a quarter of exhibitors being drawn from the local markets. Major brands at this year's show include PJ Bridgeman from the UK, who are exhibiting for the first time, Haddonstone Ltd who are also from the UK.
With the considerable amount of US$100 billion estimated to be spent by the Arabian Gulf over the next five years on leisure, travel and home development, it is inevitable that the demand for landscaping and outdoor products will increase dramatically. The population of this region is living in a climate where for nine months of the year it spends 60% of its leisure time outside. Gavin Morlini, the Exhibition Manager, states:
“It is extremely normal for people to eat in their gardens rather than their dining room or kitchen, and when going out for a meal or refreshment an outdoor venue is the preferable choice. Statistics show that the average household resident eats outside at least three times per week.”
The above factors go some way to explaining why individuals and companies are eagerly investing in stylish landscaping and luxurious yet practical products. Gardens, Landscaping & Outdoor Living is the ideal trade fair to bring fresh and exciting ideas for gardens, golf courses, and other outdoor spaces to the region.
Gardens, Landscaping & Outdoor Living, which runs parallel with 4 other trade shows Light Middle East, Hometech, Hardware & Tools and ISH Kitchen and Bathroom, has been produced by Messe Frankfurt, one of the world’s largest international exhibition organizers. It is estimated that over the 3 day show in excess of 18,000 buyers, which includes architects, interior and exterior designers, contractors and retail specialists will pass through this one stop shop for every possible building and design solution.
