Exports from Jordan's Qualified Industrial Zones up

The total exports of the Qualified Industrial Zones in the Zarqa Governorate last month amounted to JD 17,463,000.  

 

President of the Zarqa Chamber of Industry, Dr. Mohammad Tal said that exports in August were the highest since the outset of 2004. According to Petra news agency, he added that the total exports of the industrial companies in the governorate so far in 2004 was JD 94,220,000, an increase of 29 percent compared to 2003. 

 

Exports of the engineering sector ranked first followed by the food and supply sector and finally the medical appliances.  

 

Jordan's Qualified Industrial Zones which provides duty free treatment for products manufactured in them, were established to increase Jordanian exports to the U.S. markets. (menareport.com)
