Fashion phones account for 35 per cent of all mobile phones sold in the UAE, revealed Globalnet, authorised distributors for Motorola phones in the UAE, and young users prefer chic handsets over feature rich ‘fully loaded’ devices. The statement supports an IDC study which showed that globally, users perceive mobile phones as necessary fashion accessories.

Chic fashion phones make up the fastest growing segment in the UAE’s mobile phone market today. “UAE consumers are very sophisticated in their selection of handsets, and this is driving the market for stylish mobiles,” says Neal Barros, general manager Globalnet. “Motorola controls 60 per cent of this segment and we expect the chic new Motorola PEBL U6 to drive sales even further.”

The Motorola PBEL U6 is the very definition of cool chic with feminine curves inspired by the feel of a stone worn smooth by water. “It is a real conversation piece”, adds Barros. “Everyone just wants to reach out and touch it.

Motorola has pumped up the style even more to appeal to fashion savvy users looking for designs and colours to complement their lifestyles and wardrobes. The PEBL U6 is now available in four new colours: green, orange, teal and attention-grabbing pink. In addition to the original black and burgundy it can match any outfit.

The PEBL also features never-before-seen, yet simple concepts like vertical external display and a unique dual-hinge mechanism for effortless, one-handed opening. It offers an array of communication options, including Bluetooth wireless technology, integrated speakerphone, and speech-activated dialing combining usability and function in its one-of-a-kind design.
