European interest in Gitex Dubai 2002, which will run from October 13-17 at the Dubai International Exhibition Center, continues to escalate with the addition of two new European pavilions representing Finland and Northern Ireland this year. That brings the total of European pavilions at the event to five. France, Germany and the United Kingdom will also have a pavilion at this year's show.

"Gitex has always had tremendous appeal among information technology organizations in the United Kingdom and we are keen to mirror that success in other regions of Europe. Both France and Germany have increased their presence at the exhibition this year and securing the participation of two new regions further underscores the event's global appeal," said Ibrahim Al-Hashemi, Dubai World Trade Center assistant general manager.

Among the newcomers to the Gitex exhibition to have a presence at the Finland pavilion are Comptel Corporation, Nixu Oy and Sitex Oy. Comptel Corporation, a mediation software solutions provider, will display an array of solutions for the management of new content services. It will be keen to meet with operators and service providers in the region to demonstrate how its software solutions can maximize efficiency for companies managing the use of services in diverse technological environments, according to a company press release.

Comptel will display its EventLink software, which was launched in September in Helsinki. The new software collects subscriber usage data from a network, checks, converts and delivers it forward to the operator's operations and business support systems thereby enabling operators to execute accurate and timely billing cycles.

Meanwhile, Nixu Oy, a company that develops and offers tools for the administration of modern data communication infrastructures will be at Gitex this year to discuss its full range of business activities which includes product development, professional services, turnkey solutions, as well as network-system design and integration solutions. With an office in Riyadh, the company is keen to make further inroads in the Middle East region and says being at Gitex will support this goal.

Nixu has many years of experience in providing information and system security audits, value-added customer solutions, and operator billing systems. It leverages TCP/IP technologies to develop Internet infrastructure applications. The DNS administration software, NameSurfer, is one of many tools it will showcase at Gitex.

Other companies to have a presence in the Finland Pavilion include Tecnamen M.E. and Axel Digital Oy ME. Companies to have a presence at the Northern Ireland pavilion include Caral Technologies, Eyespyfx Ltd., Multimedia Info-Tech Ltd., Sugarcube, Singularity Ltd. and Propfit.com — (menareport.com)
