Finnish company supplies Nuqul Group with paper machine

Finland’s Metso Paper will supply a tissue machine to the Nuqul Group in Jordan. The total project investment made by Nuqul is in the order of €80 million. The machine is scheduled to start production during the first quarter of 2005, stated a press release.  

 

The order will be supplied by Metso Paper Karlstad, Sweden. With a width of 5.5 meters, an operating speed of 2,000 meters per minute and an annual production of 54,000 tons of facial, toilet and towel grades, the new machine will be one of the most modern in the region. The raw material for the new machine will be virgin pulp. 

 

Metso's scope of delivery will comprise a complete tissue machine with auxiliary equipment, and air and ventilation equipment, including the newly designed Advantage AirCap. The machine will also be equipped with a multilayering SymFlo TIS headbox, as well as a SymBelt TIS long nip press, and Advantage Run sheet transfer and stabilizing technology. 

 

The Nuqul Group, with headquarters in Amman, Jordan, is a leading tissue supplier in the Middle East. The Group already operates two paper mills in Egypt and Jordan. The mills, Al-Bardi and Al-Keena, produce paper sold under the FINE brand name.  

 

Metso is a supplier of process industry machinery and systems. The corporation's fiber and paper technology business area, Metso Paper, is a supplier of technology, systems and equipment for the pulp and paper industries.
