The first Automatic Teller Machine (ATM) recently appeared in Syria, reported Al-Bayan newspaper. The Real Estate Bank, a state-owned bank, informed the public that it had opened three ATMs in different regions of the Syrian capital city of Damascus.
The Bank also informed the public that other ATMs will be opened in various Syrian cities in the near future. This initiative is part of the government’s plans to modernize the ailing banking sector. –(Albawaba-MEBG)
