European and Asian investors are planning to move into Algeria in a big way, said Omar Ghoul, the country’s minister of fishing and fisheries, to two local newspapers.

Independent newspapers, El Watan and Le Jeune, reported that potential partners from Spain, France, Italy, Japan and Saudi Arabia were close to reaching agreements, concerning the fishery, naval construction, maintenance, aquaculture and preservation sectors.

According to Ghoul, 11 operational companies have been set up as joint companies. Mussels and shellfish fishing as well as fresh water shrimp farming are also likely to receive investments. ¯ (Albawaba-MEBG)
