France’s Lesaffre Company has announced plans to open a yeast production plant in Algiers, Algeria. The firm is expected to invest €20 million into the facility, which is forecasted to create hundreds of job opportunities.
Established in 1853, Lesaffre’s core business activity is the production of baker's yeast in all its forms: compressed, dried and liquid. At the same time, the selection of strains and experience in propagation techniques have led to more specific applications including oenology, brewery, dietetics and animal feeds.
Lesaffre holds a 50 percent share of the Algerian yeast market. Its parent factory in France will continue to delivery dry yeast to the Arab state since the local factory will only be active in fresh yeast production. — (menareport.com)
