ALBAWABA – French railways (SNCF), France's national state-owned railway company, said it was attacked hours before the opening ceremony of Paris Olympics. The attack was described as a “massive large-scale attack” which paralyzed the railways’ network north and east of France just before the Paris Olympics opening ceremony as reported by AFP.
Massive sabotage hits French railways
The network was damaged and the services got suspended as reported by the French railways. The company said it will divert train lanes and will have to cancel many trips until they fix their damaged network. The railway company asked its passengers to postpone their trips and stay away from train stations to avoid any upcoming accidents.

French railways are expecting this hassle to continue over the weekend as the company needs time to repair and set its network again. Patrice Vergriete, French Minister Delegate for Transport, condemned the sabotage that attacked the French Railways.
Paris Olympics
Paris will host the summer Olympic games after 100 years as the country hosted Olympics previously in 1924. Olympic games were set to start today and will finish on August 11. AFP said the country planned an exceptional opening ceremony to celebrate the big event amid many security measures.
The ceremony will start after few hours with nearly 100 boats carrying 10,500 athletes from around the world along the Seine River.
A recent report estimated the total cost of 2024 Paris Olympics to reach: $8.7 billion with indications to boost France’s economy growth by 0.3%.
