Options Volatility
The foreign exchange market is extremely quiet as we begin the last official weekend of summer. The <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />UK is off on a Bank holiday today, and the US will be closed next Monday for Labor Day. Given the thin trading conditions, a reaction to this weeks data may be largely exaggerated. Data due out this week includes FOMC meeting minutes, ISM, 2Q GDP and Nonfarm Payrolls. The ECB will also be holding a monetary policy meeting and it is widely expected that they will keep rates steady. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
The option volatilities market is quiet and may remain slightly bid ahead of this weeks economic data.
