Shipping and transport services provider group GAC has unveiled its new business plan, known as Vision X – Global Reach, which sets the framework for extending the Group's global presence while integrating and diversifying its range of services.

The Middle East, GAC's traditional market, continues to be of importance. It is a mature market with well-developed service offerings and intense competition, in which GAC has established a strong presence over the past 50 years. Under the Vision X plan, the focus will be on cost reductions and productivity improvement, as market demand is driven by price.

Across its three divisions, GAC has also identified core objectives to drive the business forward. “For shipping, we aim to increase the number of port calls attended by 47 percent by 2007,” said Shipping Group Vice President, Lars Peter Heisselberg. “Reorganization of our hub agency services to include new hubs in the US and UK, and the establishment of the Global Disbursement Center in Dubai, will further reinforce our competitiveness.”

Established in 1956, GAC's core business covers shipping, logistics and marine services. With its corporate head office is in Dubai, the company employs more than 5,000 people more than 200 offices worldwide. — (menareport.com)
