The eighth Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) E-Government, Internet and Telecommunication forum opened this week. Speaking at the conference, Sheikha Hessa Al-Khalifa, of UNDP Bahrain, emphasized the need for the Middle East nations to earnestly pursue its goals in higher education, e-business processes and coordination between the GCC governments.
She added that the relevance of quality research and development, Human resource training, Building and Strengthening virtual business communities on the internet and other points of concern.
Sheikha Hessa Al Khalifa opinioned that E-Government is a reality only when we understand the full potential of Automation. The success of the Middle East e-government depends on the extend to which the GCC countries are able to cooperate in mooting successful strategies and regulations on e-governance. — (menareport.com)
