Gulf Dynamic Switchgear (GDS), a subsidiary of M’Sharie, the private equity arm of Dubai Investments, and a leading regional manufacturer of low-voltage switchgear, electrical equipment and services, has secured an AED 6.1 million contract from Emirates District Cooling Company (EMICOOL) for the design and supply of low-voltage switchboards and industrial control panels for EMICOOL’s District Cooling plant in Dubai.
Under the agreement, GDS will also supervise the installation, testing and commissioning of the panel boards supplied to the EMICOOL plant, which is located in Dubai Investment Park. EMICOOL is one of the leading District Cooling service providers in the UAE involved in the supply of chilled water for residential, commercial and industrial applications.
“By winning this important project, we further strengthen our position in the regional market,” said Faruk Mohamed Khair, Chief Executive Officer of Gulf Dynamic Switchgear. “With the construction boom in the Middle East triggering a dramatic rise in demand for high-quality switchgear panels and distribution boards, GDS had last year undertaken a major expansion program to increase our production capacity by 200 per cent. This has enabled us to significantly improve our operational readiness and expand our geographical reach by establishing a strong presence across the Middle East as well as in the Asian, North African and CIS markets.”
Established in 1981, GDS designs and manufactures a comprehensive range of specialised electrical products that are used throughout the Middle East in the government and private sectors. In the UAE, GDS has completed several prestigious projects, including the Dubai Courts building, The British Bank Head Office, Burjuman Centre, the Head Offices for National Bank of Abu Dhabi and the Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, Rose Rotana Tower, Al Hamra Village and the Textile City in Al Aweer.
