The general assembly of the Qatar Industrial Manufacturing Company (QIMC) will convene May 22 to discuss various issues, according to Qatar’s Al-Raya newspaper.
The company posted a net operating income of 22.3 million Qatar riyals ($6.1 million) in 2000 versus QR 22.014 million in 1999. The Board of Directors recommended distributing dividends of ten percent to stockholders.
The number of the manufacturing plants in Qatar presently stands at 361, of which 338 are small and medium in sized, accounting for 94 percent of the total factories. Investment in the small and medium scale plants totaled $3.1 billion. These industries employ approximately 16,200 workers. — (MENA Report)
