Germany's industrial production was down by 2.7% in August on a yearly basis, the federal statistical office Destatis stated on Tuesday.
Production in industry excluding energy and construction also fell by 3.1%, Destatis said.
Production in energy-intensive industrial branches was up 2.2% in August, compared with the same month last year.
On a monthly basis, industrial production in the country saw an increase of 2.9% in August.
In August, production in industry excluding energy and construction was up 3.4% from July, it added.
